Pavel Kurasov
The main topic is spectral theory of differential operators on metric graphs, but the course is genuinely interdisciplinary bringing together such areas of mathematics as algebraic geometry, Fourier analysis, number theory and topology. It illustrates how ideas developed in one area of math (trace formula for metric graphs) can be used in other areas and lead to remarkable unexpected results.
The course will be based on my recent book available Open Access (see below). Following success of the book I was suggested by Springer to prepare a soft introduction into the subject of metric graphs. My plan is to write these lecture notes giving the course.
The course may be suitable for PhD students in mathematics.

you may apply for one of the positions funded by our department with me as a supervisor.

Expected starting date September 1, 2026 (or similar) .
The project is devoted to Analysis and Geometry: Crystalline Structures.
